On 15th March Our Second year students Jagadeesh G, Anupmenon K, Sivasankaran S (Team Exousia ) have showcased their exceptional project on “Harnessing Human Energy for Power Generation” and emerged victorious, clinching the 1st Prize cash award of 2500 Rupees at Aavishkaar – 2024, hosted by Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College!

Winning three prizes at the SAIRAM SDG Inspirathon 1.0 2024 is a significant achievement for the final year students of the IT department held on 22nd February. It speaks volumes about their dedication, hard work, and innovative thinking. Winning in a project competition like this showcases their potential to contribute meaningfully to the field of technology and address societal challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ananthi, AP-I, IT, organized by Buoyanci on 14.10.2019.

Sivadinesh and team of IV Year IT has won FIRST PLACE in the 36 hour hackathon named “FACEBOOK BUILD DAY 2019” organised by Facebook in association with SASTRA TBI, on September 16th and 17th . They have received a cash award of Rs.10000 and were given a special invitation to participate in the Facebook developers circle event on block chain as “IBM Trainee”. The project is also selected for the conference which is hosted by FACEBOOK.

Our third year IT students Parthasarathy, Sundaraganapathy, Krishnan and Anirudh won BEST PAPER AWARD for their paper FACIAL GESTURES BASED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED INDIVIDUALS in International Conference on IACETI in Singapore on 2nd & 3rd September 2019. They received sponsorship from the Management for attending the same.

Our third year IT students Gokulakrishnan, Parthasarathy, Sundaraganapathy and Anirudh has received SPECIAL JURY AWARD FOR MOST COMPLETED SOLUTION for the project “ENERGY AUDIT IN HOUSEHOLDS” in the IBM HACK CHALLENGE 2019 conducted at IBM OFFICE, Domlur, Bangalore on 30th August 2019.

Ms.Mankala Swetha.N,Ms.Pavithra Lakshmi S.P and Ms.Vanmathi.V of III year have secured III PRIZE in National Level Product Innovation Challenge-2018 for their project ” Wearable device for Blinds-Guide to pick surrounding objects” organized by Buoyanci. The contest was open to all the streams of engineering students across India. Many teams actively participated out of which 10 teams were finalized. Our students have secured THIRD PRIZE among 10 finalists, after three rounds of scrutiny and final online demo


A.Gaurav Verma, K.Arun Kumar & L.Raghul of batch 2018 has won First Prize and a Cash Award of Rs.5,000/– for their project “UTILIZING P300 VIA NON-INVASIVE BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE TO CONTROL WHEELCHAIR” in a NATIONAL LEVEL PROJECT EXPO 2018” conducted by University College of Engineering, Kanchipuram on 26.3.2018.

He was offered with a fully paid trip to University of Dayton to participate in a course called BEST 13(Business Engineering Science and Technology), Rolling trophy for the Institution and Rs.10, 000 cash award. He was the only Indian and scored the second highest grade in the course.Our college also awarded him with a cash award of Rs.10, 000.

RANJITH RAMESH & E.YOKESH of batch 2014 presented their project in INNOVATE CONTEST organized by IIIT Hyderabad and UMO (Usability Matters Organization). They were one among the top 10 finalist and the remaining finalists were from IITs and IIMs. The top 10 finalists were asked to present before the state planning secretary of Andhra Pradesh.

RANJITH & YOKESH have won second place in SANGARSH (India’s biggest paper presentation contest) organized by Computer Society of India, Kanyakumari chapter. This is organized for the southern zone which includes Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. They have been awarded with a SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB.
