About the Department

The Department of Information Technology starting from the year 1999 with an admission of 44 students has now heightened to a sterling input of 180 students. The Department is supported by staunch and steadfast squad of 37 faculty. For the students to be au courant of the newest technologies and the developments occurring in the field of information technology, the department takes the utmost and due concern by marshalling Guest lectures, seminars, workshops and training programs with the aid of “The Best” engineers and academicians from national and international reputes.

Students are made to sharpen and rally their knowledge on the future technology by mastering the art of computing and supporting them to think futuristic by begetting Research ad Research related activities through the Research and Development cell. As a result of the efforts the department has made and in due endeavours the students have made their flags high in various national and international forums.

The caliber of our student’s performance in various curricular and co-curricular activities has proven excellence and eminence. The accomplishment of the results in university exams, various state, National and international awards of our students has shown beyond doubt for the excellence. Adding little more sparkle to our shining exquisite our department to enrich the technical astute of students has been taking many initiatives such as organizing national and international conferences. “SaiTechcellence” – Symposium committee by the departments is the integral part in machinating the national level symposiums every year. Ostensible institutions like DST, AICTE etc. is funding various projects by our students. Awards and honors are received by our department every year for initiating innovations.

Every year our record of placement is heightening to about 96% and sure we will reach to cent percent. In the field of Academics we are having an excellent progression. The department is Bred-in-the-bone by keeping consistently in the top which is due to the mainstay of our staffs. To make a keynote here, the staffs are the active catalysts in performing various research activities and dedication levels of them to make students more prepared for their future is commendable. The staffs and students are actively taking part as the members of ISTE.

Milestones :

• The department bagged 3 Gold Medals (UG-2, PG-1) and 85 University Ranks since inception.
• The department is accredited for five years by the National Board of accreditation, AICTE.
• It has the privilege of getting funds up to Rs.50 lakhs sponsored by various Government Organizations like AICTE, DST, ISTE, etc. for various innovative and social relevant projects of high caliber.
• The department has been a key player and a pivotal point in holding the prestigious membership of the ISTE student chapter (highest number of student participants in Tamil Nadu)
• The department organized an 4th IEEE International Conference on Computing and Communication Technologies (ICCCT’21), on 16th and 17th Dec 2021. All the papers presented were published in IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
• Faculty members have publications in journals that are indexed by Google scholar, Scopus, Web of Science etc.
•  Every Year the department organizes “Sai Tech Grail“, an innovative student project exhibition in Association with reputed MNC’s, which has live project demonstration by students from other college.
